Alay!

Posted in Uncategorized on July 19, 2009 by pccslugs

What up folks! Yes, we know…we said in an earlier post that we would promise some PCC flashback entries. Sorry for lagging on that. It’ll be up in the near future…promise! In the mean time, we would like to spotlight another aspect of the Filipino Student Association…ALAY.
Alay1994Alay, which in Tagalog means “dedication or offering” is an original student publication. The publication usually consists of written and visual art by the Filipino Student Association’s community members and allies and is produced each winter quarter. In it’s current incarnation, Alay 17, the  coordinators Mari Medrano and Rachelle Soroten are briging Alay into the online world with it’s website: http://sites.google.com/site/alayucsc/
Through this, they hope to integrate the community more into the Alay process as well as catering to the desire of alternative expression within our community members and allies. And for those on facebook, join the group as well: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=104764993765&ref=ts
And lastly, if y’all are dying to be involved with Alay this upcoming year, go fill out this spreadsheet! http://spreadsheets.google.com/embeddedform?key=tZyRY_sOoUjl_a8pROS557g
